In addition to the impacting the needs stated above, the aim was to contribute to the horizontal priority of ‘Addressing digital transformation through the development of digital readiness, resilience and capacity’ and the sectoral priorities of ‘Stimulating innovative learning and teaching practices’ and ‘Rewarding excellence in learning, teaching and skills development’.
The ENHANCER project application was motivated by the identification of several needs within the target groups of teachers and students at the participating institutions, in particular the need for attractive educational tools for social entrepreneurship (SE) that would make learning more engaging and concrete for students. Additionally, there was a recognized need for a framework for digital pedagogy to effectively embed innovative tools, such as a digital educational escape room, within higher education institutes (HEIs). Furthermore, the ENHANCER project focuses on Social Entrepreneurship (SE) because it is recognized as an important and valid tool to address the increasing number of societal challenges facing Europe, such as migration, inequality, and climate change. SE contributes to inclusiveness, equal opportunities, civic participation, and helps tackle ecological problems. Therefore, there is a crucial need to prepare students in European HEIs with the required skills to contribute to solutions for these societal challenges, whether as social entrepreneurs themselves or by adopting a social entrepreneurial mindset in the broader labor market.
