Objectives

The Back to Basics project stimulated entrepreneurial learning to youngsters with fewer opportunities, coming from rural areas, focused on communication and cooperation. The objectives of Back to Basics were: - To bring 9 youth leaders together in an APV in order to prepare the youth exchange and all its aspects - To bring 46 disadvantaged youngsters aged 15 - 21 and 10 youth leaders together in an exchange and exchange best practices regarding local entrepreneurship and to stimulate entrepreneurial learning. - To make youngsters realize their potentials in taking initiative and increasing their autonomy - To let youngsters exchange current entrepreneurial advantages and disadvantages in the participating rural areas - To let the youngsters create and disseminate several products in order to spread the project results and outcomes, this included a video, newspaper articles, social media updates and on the websites of the partners. The activities in Back to Basics were one APV and one youth exchange for 56 persons coming from Netherlands, Finland, Portugal, Greece, Italy, Croatia, Slovenia, Spain, Hungary and Macedonia. Dates APV: 21+22 May, 2022 Dates exchange: 21 July – 4 August, 2022 Location: Olde Vechte group accommodation, Ommen, The Netherlands The basic element of each activity is entrepreneurial learning, one can learn only entrepreneurship by doing and practicing it, therefore we made use of role play activities, case studies, research and investigations in the community, simulation games, problem solving and media assignments (videos). The method was mainly living and working together, creating own projects/activities and implementing them. As a result of Back to Basics the following output was created: - A video regarding the exchange, its outcomes and what youngsters got out of participating in the Back to Basics project. - articles in the own language which will immediately be send to the local and regional newspapers, created in mixed groups - social media articles, such as photo collages, reports, testimonials, examples, etc. this will be spread through social media and on the websites of the partners - A flyer which can be used in the own local community in order to promote the Back to Basics project and Cherry as an organization in order to attract new youngsters to participate in an exchange one day. The sustainable impact of Back to Basics are new approaches towards communicating & cooperation by the partners to educate youngsters coming from rural areas on how to become more entrepreneurial and how to take more initiative. These approaches were shared and spread on a local and regional level by each partner.
