YOUth ACTivist Camp was a follow-up project, initiated and developed by participants of the previous YOUth in ACTivism: The Camp project addressing the topics of activism within the LGBT+ community. It is a project made by Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Asexual, and + (all other gender and sexuality identities) youth who want to bring together LGBTQIA+ and allies peers, in a shared safe, and brave space, that encourages dialogue and participation, where they can themselves freely with no fear, listen to each other's stories and experiences coming from their different intercultural backgrounds, live together in a nurturing community and feel like a united family, share their knowledge and ideas and learn how to put them into action. After the lonesome and tiresome months of the pandemic, an LGBTQIA+ summer camp has been and was the best getaway for their wellbeing, growth, and simple happiness, where they get to gain friends from all over Europe, camp together outdoors, learn about the European LGBTQIA+ community and the current situation of LGBTQIA+ human rights in the participating countries, experience different forms of activism with the main focus on community building and learning by doing, and make something of their own while supporting and celebrating each other. YOUth ACTivist Camp objectives were: - Organize a 12 days Youth Exchange and bring together 40 young LGBTQIA+ and allies people, youth with fewer opportunities. - Foster peer learning and exchange different types of activism (community building, street actions, digital, non-formal learning, artivism) and lift participants' active participatory attitude in their lives and in society. - Increase lifelong learning competencies, with-for-by promoting Youthpass, and boost participant's self-confidence and growth during all phases, empowering their self-awareness, their emotional and physical well-being, and sense of belonging. - Organize a collaborative local action with smaller street actions in the Netherlands (YE) and at least 16 local actions (2 per partner country) during the follow-up phase. - Organize an Activists Youth Forum online, sharing project results and mainly amplifying the young voices and their critical role in building inclusive societies. - Continue elevating the Erasmus+ program and non-formal learning as a beneficial tool for activism and social change.
