By implementing the project we want to be able to create an indoor place called YOUnity. The objective of this project is to put the business plan for YOUnity into practice, learn how to get funding and get funding. With the indoor place YOUnity we want to create a place where all youth can sport and be active. We aim to create a safe and inclusive place that is welcoming to everyone and where the Human Rights and European values are put into practice. By implementing the project we also want to learn a lot and develop competences that will help us to learn how to learn, how to show active citizenship and to be role models and have a big impact in our environment in return. The young people formulated the project summary as follows: "YOUnity is a concept created by a diverse group of young adults who felt that there was something missing in Utrecht. The concept is an indoor urban hall where sports and culture can come together. In this place people can come together to build a community which enhances itself and creates dozens of opportunities to grow individually and socially. Where traditional sports clubs fall short by only committing to one activity, we want to make a difference by connecting all aspects that lead to becoming a finer member of society. Currently we are in the process of constructing a plan. This process teaches young people how to create a concrete concept out of a mere idea, which comes with various challenges and opportunities for the young people involved to grow. All youngsters have different goals and views on which skills they want to improve whilst simultaneously being part of a community and learning how to build one. They will learn practical and social skills, as well as getting opportunities that they would not traditionally receive. Additionally creating role models that will eventually inspire others to start making their dreams a reality. Leading by example."
