We wanted to set up a training programme consisting of 8 training days verdeeld over goep 1 en groep2, each with 20 attendees/participants and twoo conferences with 40 participants. These programmes were meant to be identical, however, participants were different. (On the one hand, the training sessions of one group took place on Sundays afternoon, from 13:00 to 17:00, biweekly. On the other, two weeks in a month another group partoon in the training programme). This project aimed to train young migrants and young people with migrant backgrounds on effective and responsible use of online tools, including social media, for influencing policy and combating racism and discrimination so as to distinguish fake news from real ones; make their voices heard against racism and discrimination; to have their voices heard by policymakers and respond appropriately / defend themselves against online racism and discrimination. The project also aimed to ensure that young people effectively use social media, for example, to combat ethnic profiling by security forces. In addition, attention had been paid to the technical aspects such as filming and photography and how media messages could be adequately presented through various media channels.
