By implementing this project we wanted to gain experience with Erasmus+, hereby the entire process from writing the application, forming a new and solid collaboration, implementing the activities, and getting to know the program and its requirements. From ESLs perspective, this represented a different type of project than what we normally work with, which include many and various potential learnings both individually and organizationally. Both project partners wanted to explore the possibility of a higher education program in regenerative leadership and entrepreneurship. The project partners also wanted to research and develop a learning design process and follow it while creating a first draft for a new master program - representing a shift we believe is absolutely necessary if we are to have a prosperous future. Through the project we wanted to contribute to both innovation and to strengthen the European education area with a new and highly relevant educational offer. We also wanted to establish new relationships and networks, where we could find both new and future potential project partners, potential on-ground projects for students and new possible collaboration projects.
We wanted to bring our joint mission of working on regenerative systems through leadership development and entrepreneurship to life. Both ESCP Business School and Emergence School of Leadership (ESL) are currently offering different educational programs within sustainability, and we saw an opportunity to join forces, explore a possible long-term collaboration and work on a concrete project together to unleash the energy of a worldwide ecosystem of regenerative thinkers and doers. We believed this project could contribute to a much-needed shift from maintaining the state of the environment to restoring its state. To achieve that we believe students need habits of mind, know-how, theoretical understanding, and tools that are relevant and useful to contribute towards solving environmental issues/SDGs. There is thus a need to create educational offerings which transform passive learning to active doing, where collaboration will be a key element. Through collaborating on this project across educational systems and borders, through exchanging knowledge, expertise, and networks, and finding common goals to work on – we wanted this project to be the first stepping stone into the future field of regenerative business and entrepreneurship.
