Objectives

The "Game It till you Make It" project aimed to spread knowledge about gamification and game-based learning among young people and youth organizations. The main objective of the project was to improve the level of key competences and skills among young people, with particular regard to their relevance for the labor market and their contribution to a cohesive society. The project used non-formal and informal methodologies, which included games, simulations, teamwork, discussions, indoor and outdoor activities. These activities were designed to challenge young people to be proactive, and they were in the center of attention. Participants were the ones who initiated, planned, implemented, and evaluated activities, and they received guidance, mentoring, and facilitation. The project had an added value of internationalization as it involved six countries and 30 participants. The diversity of partner countries and nationalities created a good space for sharing best practices and promoting EU values. Partner organizations shared their methodologies and approaches they used when working with young people, and participants had opportunities to show their cultures and traditions, values, and habits. An inclusive environment was created where people respected each other and became more open-minded, tolerant, and anti-discriminative. The project also aimed to develop digital skills during the entire project. Participants took part in virtual meetings and got used to new online tools that they could use during their lives and careers. Organizations developed online collaborative techniques and discovered new co-working platforms. The project also met the Erasmus+ objectives that were meant to preserve nature and fight against climate change. Participants improved their "green skills," and the competencies developed would have a sustainable impact for stakeholders and the environment. The project met the Erasmus+ Quality Standards and the European Youth Goals. It provided inclusive opportunities for young people, with a participatory approach and an equal environment, and increased their transferable skills. For youth organizations, it built capacities, improved project-management competencies, developed monitoring and evaluation practicalities, and considered young people's feedback for improvement. In summary, the objectives of the "Game It till you Make It" project were to spread knowledge about gamification and game-based learning, improve the level of key competences and skills among young people, create an inclusive environment that promotes EU values, develop digital skills, meet the Erasmus+ objectives for preserving nature and fighting against climate change, and meet the Erasmus+ Quality Standards and the European Youth Goals by providing inclusive opportunities for young people and improving youth organizations' capacities and project-management competencies.
