The Youth Exchange “Be The Solution Not The Pollution” gathered 36 youngsters from Norway, Turkey, Georgia, Armenia, Hungary, and Croatia. The project “Be The Solution Not The Pollution” underlined the fact that we can all be changemakers and start living in the 'Green' Environment by taking responsibility for ourselves and implementing small or big initiatives. The project aimed to promote sustainability and make youth understand its importance. The background of the project is related to the environmental issues that exist in the coal communities of the partner countries: The environment plays a significant role to support life on the earth. Ecological degradation is detrimental since it threatens the health of animals, humans, and plants. Air and water pollution, global warming, smog, deforestation, and wildfires are just a few of the environmental issues that we are facing right now. The everyday activities of humans are constantly degrading the quality of the environment which ultimately results in the loss of survival conditions from the earth. In such a busy, crowded, and advanced life we must take care of such types of small bad habits on daily basis. With only a tiny effort in the end everyone can indeed bring a major positive change to our environment. To reach the aim of the project we had the following objectives: -To give participants the possibility to share their knowledge and ideas; -To develop a mutual understanding of essential concepts such as sustainable development and community building, and to explore the links between these; -To foster a mutual better understanding of ecological situation and culture in the countries of participants and develop a sense of ecological awareness; -To raise awareness about environmental issues and to promote sustainability and active citizenship in the communities. - To promote the values of diversity, respect, solidarity, and equality. -To stimulate creativity, challenge the participants' behaviours, and equip them with new ways of youth participation, personal expression and development, tools, and skills needed to lead responsible actions in their communities; -Lead a campaign against climate change and environmental degradation; -To promote Erasmus + opportunities. The project gathered participants from countries with different levels of life so we could compare the importance of the problem in these countries and share good practices. The youth exchange addressed the issues: many environmental problems have increased as a result of human activities. Various human activities have induced many undesirable effects on the environment, threatening human health, the economy, natural resources, and the gene pool of ecosystems such as pollution, global warming, and soil erosion. The project helped participants to recognize a responsibility to take care of the environment to make this planet a wonderful place to live.
