The aim for this project was to teach young people with different challenges, background, faith and gender, about Norwegian nature, hunting traditions, fishing both at lakes and at sea, hiking, and climate change. In addition, we wanted to give the youths outdoor experiences that they will never forget, including canoeing, boat trips, mountain hikes and fishing trips. The goal was also for the young people to experience a feeling of mastery that makes them more confident in themselves and thus dare to take a larger place in society. On the trip, we wanted to focus on what nature gives us, how we use it and what the consequences are if we don't use nature in a sustainable way. The nature in Northern Norway is unique and shows Norwegian nature at its best. There are high, steep mountains, rich sea life and wildlife, and it provides the opportunity to experience natural phenomena such as the midnight lights. In addition, the largest part of business life in the Lofoten area is based on fishing and agriculture. This also makes the destination a good base for teaching young people about what nature has to offer and how to manage it.
