In addition, school canteens and cafeterias were organized in accordance with the “Slow Food” philosophy and nutrition menus were updated in accordance with this philosophy.

Background

Slow Food believed that food quality should be defined not only by flavour, but by three broad principles: quality food should be good, clean and fair. Our daily food choices therefore have an impact on our health as well as on climate and culture. Choosing more vegetables and legumes and reducing meat and industrial food consumption can lead to a significant reduction in CO2 emissions. The production of animal foods tends to have higher greenhouse gas emissions than the production of plant foods, and dairy products and red meat (especially beef) stand out for their disproportionate impact. The loss of food culture, which is one of the most important parts of folk culture, causes cultural erosion. While the industrialised social structure eliminates the food culture with fast food, it also eliminates the communication that people establish while eating. The decrease in sharing and communication between people naturally damages cultural interaction. Our project is a project that aims to combat environmental and climate change, aims to reduce domestic waste, reduce harmful gases such as methane and carbon dioxide gas in nature, supports organic agriculture, wants and supports people to protect their eating and drinking traditions.
