2021-2-PL01-KA122-SCH-0000419882021Short-term projects for mobility of learners and staff in school education finalized
Countries: PL · Grant: €29,327
Green skillsInclusion, promoting equality and non-discriminationTeaching and learning of foreign languages

Objectives

By implementing the project we wanted to increase our student's ecological awareness, equip teachers with knowledge about environmental protection and methods to teach it, as well as to make our students and their families have more pro-ecological approach. We dealt with widely understood issue of tolerance, marginalization and social exclusion. We equipped our students with key competences, especially knowledge of foreign languages, cultural awareness, the ability to think critically and the efficient use of communication and information technology. Taking into consideration the number of special needs students who attend our school, we wanted to observe and implement innovative methods of working with such students and include them in mobility and projects, to enhance their sense of success and self-confidence.

Background

We applied for the grant because we saw the need to introduce changes in the school's activities in a few fields. Students and teachers lacked ecological knowledge. The school didn't undertake sufficient actions in order to promote pro-ecological behaviors in everyday life. W also saw the insufficient level of knowledge about tolerance, acceptance of dissimilarities and cultural differences. We believed that our students would be able to achieve better results in learning foreign languages if they were motivated properly and saw the perspective of practical use of the acquired skills, for which the project was a great opportunity. Online teaching period made us realize that teachers should continuously develop their technological skills, among others using the ICT tools. We also wanted to enhance the quality of teaching in our school by skillful individual approach to students with special educational needs, who constitute a large number of our students.
