Objectives

At the stage of writing the application, we diagnosed areas of the school's work that require improvement. We have specified goals, the achievement of which in the long term will improve the level and quality of the school's work and develop the international dimension of our school and intercultural cooperation. We wanted to achieve this by: - improving teachers' digital competences and, consequently, using modern technologies in teaching, - improving teachers' language skills, - learning and developing appropriate methods of teaching other subjects through a foreign language, which will have a positive impact on the language level of students, - creating and developing the international dimension of our school and intercultural cooperation. Undoubtedly, the most important goal was to improve teachers' linguistic and digital competences and then use the acquired skills in teaching. During the implementation of the project, we intended to develop teachers' activities on the eTwinning platform and thus involve students in activities related to expanding the activity of our school in the field of international cooperation.

Background

Ignacy Jan Paderewski School Complex in Zbrachlin is a small school located in a rural area. The students come from farming families, often with socio-economic problems. Approximately 30% of students have opinions about specific learning difficulties or disabilities. This causes additional challenges for our teachers. This also affects the results of external exams, which may not be the worst compared to other rural schools, but we are still far from the top. The teaching staff includes both young teachers, full of energy and innovative ideas, and people approaching retirement age for whom any changes in the approach to teaching, the extensive use of modern technologies and foreign languages are a huge problem. Taking into account the current situation, we decided to implement a project developing teachers' digital and linguistic competences, which will improve the level and quality of the school's work.
