Objectives

The idea for the project came from a group of young women graduates in cultural studies, who are sensitive to current social issues and wanted to use art as a tool for personal development and the education of others. The participants and founders of the initiative group wanted to gain experience in organising international youth exchanges. None of them had carried out such projects before, and only one had taken part in an exchange outside Poland. One of the main aims of the project, which was fully achieved, was to raise awareness of inclusiveness and diversity manifested on many levels - nationality, origin, religion, sexual orientation, dietary diversity, worldview and special needs. The themes we addressed to achieve these goals were: - inclusiveness in a broad sense and diversity - through the implementation of an international youth exchange project, the goal of developing intercultural and interpersonal competencies, learning about other points of view, and broadening one's perspectives is obvious. At the same time, by getting to know other young people of other nationalities in a somewhat similar situation, one can personally confront functioning stereotypes and effectively dispel them, reinforcing one's attitude of curiosity to learn about new people, cultures, behaviors, and views, developing sensitivity to inclusiveness. - Ecology, the natural environment, and the dangers of progressive climate change - the city of Bytom, which is the site of the project, is located in an industrialized part of the country, where economic development based on coal mining and metallurgy has had a disastrous impact on the natural environment, while also contributing to changes in the landscape of the region. The goal of raising awareness of environmental issues was achieved through discussions and meetings with experts and local activists. The aim of the project, in the broadest sense, is to create a platform for multifaceted exchange while focusing attention on our chosen, above-mentioned problems and incorporating art into these processes as a tool with great educational and workshop potential.
