Much has been said about environmentalism, but has enough been done? Well, precisely, NO! And this is the PROBLEM! It can be seen with the naked eye - weather anomalies, fires, dying animal species, poor air quality, tons of plastic on land and in the sea, and scientific studies have reinforced the belief that in a dozen years or so our planet Earth and us are in danger of ecological disaster - AND THAT'S THE PROBLEM! According to the WWF Living Planet Report 2020, published last September, environmental degradation is largely responsible for this state of affairs, which is also the cause of the emergence of new zoonotic diseases such as COVID-19. The project we carried out together with a partner from Lithuania was a manifestation against the degradation of our environment. And our authority became Heida Ásgeirsdóttir, known throughout Iceland. She activated the local community living in the south of the island, near the Katla volcano, against a large corporation that planned to build a power plant in the vicinity of her farm. Heida's attitude is proof that each of us can initiate change, even despite the resistance of others, and start involving the immediate environment in our actions. We, too, despite our young age, have become involved in environmental protection activities, for now in the immediate environment (home, school, village, city), and in the future in a wider circle. This is especially important for us, since our regions are rich in lakes, reservoirs of fresh water, which is becoming more and more scarce not only globally, but also in our region. More and more companies and large farms have sprung up in our area, using this water for production and to feed cattle and pigs. Unfortunately, in doing so, they forget to properly manage the wealth that is water. Therefore, we have a need to influence local entrepreneurs, as well as local farmers so as to educate them about proper management of water resources, as well as waste management. We used our interests, talents, such as painting and art, to also reach out to our friends in the country, Europe and the world, promoting environmentally friendly behavior, which was the work of our project. With a common understanding of the topic (with a project partner), we established the main goals we wanted to achieve with our project: 1. changes in ecological behavior we should start with ourselves, then convince and influence household members, peers and the local environment in which we live, 2. to activate society, especially young people, entrepreneurs, farmers and local authorities to pro-environmental behavior in everyday life (the application of simple rules, for example, that help reduce the generation of unnecessary waste,etc.), 3. with their knowledge and ecological manifestation, educate the wider public by pointing out the dangers, 4. fighting stereotypes about the climate and the environment, making the public aware of what is true 5. to learn about ways to protect the environment in our regions, countries and exchange experiences, 6. to develop our own, our methods and ideas of environmental protection and how to implement their life, 7. to consciously engage in social activities to protect the environment and citizens of Europe. While the side objectives were: 1. to develop linguistic competence (English, Lithuanian, Polish) 2. development of manual skills and techniques (e.g. painting, sewing, pasting, decorating) 3. development of creativity 4. development of mathematical competence 5. developing organizational and logistical skills through comprehensive organization of this project 6. learning about our countries, cultures, traditions, searching for similarities and differences;
