Objectives

We strongly believe in the idea of social entrepreneurship - making a social impact and changing the world for the better by using business strategies. It is one of the best ways to be an active part of society and contribute to positive change as well as earn money and be sustainable. Social enterprises are considered the best way to include people with fewer opportunities in society by giving them the chance to earn money and be independent while raising their self-esteem. Our experience with young people shows that they still do not completely understand the right way to use this form of business as a tool for making changes in their communities. Nowadays, when the EU is facing serious challenges in terms of social exclusion, unemployment and demographic change, social enterprises play a significant role in strengthening people’s prospects in both society and the labour market. This project aimed to raise a new generation of youth workers, who are able to use social entrepreneurship as a sustainable model for their activities. We invited participants to skip the trying-and-failing method many social entrepreneurs took and instead join us on a journey of hard and soft skills needed to run a successful business with social impact. While many countries are facing big unemployment (and it is getting worse due to coronavirus), especially amongst the youth, we wanted to offer these competencies to help fight this problem. We wanted to share our practical knowledge and skills with others, to teach youth workers and NGO members how they can make their initiatives more sustainable, as well as teach them how to transfer entrepreneurial spirit and skills to young people that they are working with on a daily basis. Before this project, we had already hosted a successful international Erasmus+ Training Course on the topic of social entrepreneurship in Poland (More than Money 020-2-PL01-KA105-082624, activity implemented in August 2021). We had been more than happy with the results of this activity and we decided to implement a follow-up project on this topic, with all our new experiences and ideas for activities and with completely new partners with whom we hadn’t cooperated yet on this topic to share our skills and experience further and further. Specific objectives of the project were: -to showcase the combination of making a profit and bringing social impact while running a social business; -to promote existing enterprises and show participants practical examples of running a successful social business through study visits; -to support participants in developing new ideas for potential social businesses; -to exchange skills and tools for digital materials that support a new organization; -to create new projects and ideas that include people with fewer opportunities.
