Within the framework of the project "From Council to Board", implemented by our Foundation in cooperation with Youth City Councils and School Self-Governments, we planned to achieve several goals that would significantly contribute to strengthening the role of youth council members and representatives of student governments, as well as promoting active participation of young people in social life. Goal 1: Strengthening the Role of Youth City Councils The project enabled the organization of a series of trainings and conferences, which significantly contributed to the development of competencies of youth council members and representatives of student governments. Project participants had the opportunity to exchange experiences and learn from experienced council members, which increased their effectiveness in action. Goal 2: Solving the "Entry" and "Exit" Problem Within the project, we focused on two key issues: the recruitment of new council members (Entry) and the utilization of the experience of council members ending their term (Exit). The assumption was to increase awareness and interest of students in activities in youth councils, which translated into a larger number of candidates and the quality of candidacies. Meanwhile, for the council members ending their term, development programs were created, thanks to which their knowledge and experience remained utilized in local communities. Goal 3: Promotion of Active Citizenship The project aimed to contribute to the promotion of the idea of active citizenship among young people. Through various activities, such as workshops and meetings, young people gained a better understanding of the role they can play in their local communities. Goal 4: Strengthening the Competencies of Guardians We also paid special attention to increasing the competencies of guardians of youth councils and student governments. Thanks to meetings and workshops, guardians were able to acquire new skills in supporting cooperation between school self-governments and youth city councils.
