The main objective of the project was to develop a training program for people aged 60+ to strengthen their digital and social competences and to develop guides to help seniors navigate the web and use the Internet to facilitate everyday life. The program is planned to be disseminated among a wide range of NGO recipients both in Poland and Germany so that they can use it by organizing trainings for seniors, thanks to which they could get out of digital exclusion.
This project responded to the needs of the elderly related to the state of pandemic threat. The implementation of the project is in line with the goals of ZAFOS, and helping the weak and needy is the mission of ZAFOS. The training content developed in this project will allow seniors to acquire new competences regarding public speaking, enabling them to articulate their needs more effectively. The project meets the recommendation of an integrative approach, as it allows participants from Poland and Germany to participate in project activities. The project activities took into account the diagnosis of the needs of members of senior organizations with the support of the experience and good practices of German and Polish partners and allowed to create program modules that improve the level of digital skills and competences. Our project responded to the current social demand. Support for seniors is one of the priorities of the United Nations, which has defined rights of fundamental importance to ensure the life, health and well-being of older people, including reducing the digital exclusion of seniors, which significantly hinders their access to information and online services
