As an educational organization, we wanted to become part of an international cooperation network. Thanks to the implementation of the project with a partner from Malta, thanks to the achievement of all planned goals and the wide dissemination of effects and results, we wanted to increase the prestige of the Activus (A) Foundation in the local environment and among the Universities of the Third Age. We wanted the FA staff running the Activus Senior Academy (ASA) to improve their competencie in the field of multilingualism, digital competencies, establishing international contacts and conducting joint activities (networking). Our intention was to enable ASA participants to establish personal contacts with members of the FFL organization in order to increase their motivation to undertake activities for the activation of seniors in the future - locally and internationally. We wanted to make the potential of ASA participants - their knowledge, skills, experience, etc. enriched with new competences, such as communicating in foreign languages directly and through information technology, maintaining established contacts with people from another country, initiating activities, using from social media, active participation in public debates
We applied for the implementation of the project, because by participating in it we wanted to gain experience in the implementation of such projects, introduce the Activus Foundation to a higher level of organizational development, and also familiarize FA members with the current challenges faced by the communities of Poland and EU countries - such as e.g. strengthening social integration, active aging and encouraging seniors to take action to develop personal and social competences, improve their language skills. foreign languages and digital competences. Based on diagnosed needs, we decided that the learning community of the Activus Senior Academy needs support in raising the broadly understood awareness of Europe. strengthening citizens' attachment to common values and implementing them for active participation in the life of a democratic society. We wanted to make the participants aware of the importance of values common to all EU countries, and to activate their potential (time, energy, etc.) for action. Without the implementation of the project, we would not be able to meet the above-mentioned needs.
