Objectives

The aim of our project was to stimulate activity and improve social inclusion in the education of adults in the fields of art, ecology, and cultural events. The goal was achieved by increasing competence and preparing adapted tools for employees of partner institutions as well as other people working with adults in the field of adult activation and motivation for lifelong learning. In addition, we wanted to increase the knowledge of people working with older adults and project participants on issues related to improving social inclusion in adult education and gaining the knowledge and competences of educators regarding cultural education, environmental education, and promoting better access to and participation in culture through new forms and educational materials that were developed as part of the project. The combination of ecological solutions, i.e., knowledge on how an individual can support sustainable development, introduce environmental protection into their lives, influence the environment so that it is our common goal, and at the same time participate in the broadly understood green transformation, has been defined by the project partners as the area that is of vital importance to humanity.

Background

Bema20 is a cultural institution and foundation operating in the field of art, addressed to residents, adults. Art itself, but also the green world and its protection, are strongly inscribed in its activities. We are aware that green events, green solutions, and eco-spaces are the perspective of the institution's development; therefore, by finding the right partner, we decided to meet the social needs, which after the pandemic were very clearly marked in many reports. In the era of COVID-19, the activities of centers supporting education and the activities of adults have been strongly limited. Supporting adults through art and event initiatives is crucial to launching access to high-quality educational offerings for adults. Research shows that lifelong learning is good for health, the standard of living, and civic participation in society. Activating adults and bringing them closer to the cultural sector and art is one of the ways to spend time, explore, and acquire knowledge. In the course of life, we often forget about art, not having time for emotions, feelings, and experiencing the value that art introduces into the life of an adult.
