By implement.the project,the Partners aimed to achieve the following goals:1.Develop.an innovative training program OTWE for beginner teachers.2.Develop.educational materials to support teachers in difficulties related to working in crisis and changing situations(with particular emphasis on the pandemic and post-pandemic situations).3.Increas.the professional competences of teachers who start working at school by participat.in training on the development of social skills necessary in working with students,taking into account the pandemic and post-pandemic situation.The Partners wanted to draw attention to the important problem of the need to develop professional young teachers in the field of key competencies in their work, i.e. social competences, and at the same time, responding to the above-mentioned problem, provide effective assistance for novice teachers through the developed training program.An important aspect of the project activities was to draw attention to the above-mentioned problem of school staff-principals and teachers,including experienced teachers who can support their younger colleagues,encouraging them,among others,to improve their competences or sharing their own experiences with them.
Among the key European studies conducted among teachers,young teachers indicated social competences as the most frequently mentioned educat.needs their professional group.When they asked about weaknesses,they most often mentioned:problems with maintaining discipline in the classroom,difficult.in relationships with students,includ.,on the one hand,great distrust towards students,and at the same time too lenient,lack of patience,distance,self-control,as well as being guided by stereotypes in the assessment of students.In many countries,a large number of teachers making their debut in the profession resign from working at school,which puts into question both the quality of their preparation during studies,as well as the level of support in the difficult beginnings of professional career.Resignation from the profession is often not related to low salary,but rather to too heavy workload and problems in communic.with students,their parents and colleagues.Training program OTWE is a response to the above-mentioned needs of young teachers.It complements the knowledge acquired by graduates during studies and internships.Particip.in the training equipped novice teachers with the competences and tools necessary to cope with everyday situation
