Objectives

The aim of the project was to increase awareness and competences related to sustainable development and ecological approach among the management staff of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises. By developing an innovative Training Program - Sustainable Development - ESG Management, the partnership aimed to prepare managers to effectively manage changes in the context of sustainable management. Additionally, the project was intended to influence the adaptation of vocational education to the needs of the labor market, adequately preparing specialists for new challenges and responsibilities resulting from the European Green Deal.

Background

The project "Academy of Sustainable Development - ESG Management" responded to the need for a new model of managing the sustainable development of enterprises. Over the past three decades, governments and businesses around the world have been mobilizing to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement and the UN 2030 Agenda. The European Green Deal has become a key strategy towards climate neutrality by 2050. This requires a fundamental transformation of business management systems and a transition to green economic models. Project partners tried to change awareness of sustainable management. A significant challenge was the lack of knowledge about environmental protection and economic benefits from eco-innovation. The project was intended to prepare enterprises for a new management model by defining new competences and opportunities to acquire them. The project was implemented in partnership: University of Tourism and Ecology (Poland), European Ecocycles Society (Hungary), Green Industry Foundation (Poland), Edu Smart (Ireland). The project's assumptions resulted from the previous cooperation between the partners and common experiences.
