The project aimed at, and did create upskilling pathways and social inclusion of adults in the field of education through a grassroot and peer-to-peer approaches aiming at identifying, building and recognising key-competences, informal skills and practices. We fulfilled this through a process of capacity-building and the implementation of informal education activities and exchanges of good practices both locally and internationally. The Jobshadowings themselves, since they engaged community leaders and primary beneficiaries of the projects in the exchanges were a very important objective so as to effectively create change from the local realities and those who directly face the daily challenges of residing in backgrounds of fewer opportunities. Furthermore, the partner organisations proposed and edited a manual for good Exchange practices based on the outcomes and the results of the activities of the project. Lastly, this present application also had the objective of integrating a new organisation in Erasmus+ projects and through it develop their work at local level and integrating the European dimension in it.
More often than not, organisations working in community development and social inclusion rely on the skills and competences of the so-called local leaders and other key actors in order to facilitate the implementation of development projects. Yet, those very people often struggle to access the job market and their skills remain unnoticed and unrecognized institutionally. This project effectively addressed this issue by reenforcing the employability and the community engagement of adults with fewer opportunities, specifically in three countries - Portugal, Spain and Romania. This project was done not only from the desire to build a more just, inclusive and democratic community, but also from the numerous challenges the world is currently facing. We firmly believe that there is need for effective responses and that transnational cooperation projects, particularly those with a strong partnership with similar aims and goals but working in different contexts and realities, can bring about effective solutions, as they allow the exchange of different perspectives through international mobility, the development of the work carried out at local level in the areas of social inclusion, adult education and employability.
