Background

Before drawing up the project a needs analysis was made in dialogue with all partners, having already set the broader theme: food waste. It was also made a SWOT analysis based on this line of action, bearing in mind the context of each country. We found out that we as partners share common goals. During this process, all the partners realized the emergence of theme Food Waste Issue: • Food Waste Issue the significant problem of food waste in the EU, where around 88 million tonnes are wasted annually, costing about 143 billion euros. • Knowledge Gap: There was a belief among partners that students lack knowledge and had varying opinions and attitudes towards food waste. • Obesity Concern: The project also addressed student obesity by promoting better eating habits and awareness. • Educational Approach: Schools were incorporating practical food education into the curriculum to influence healthier eating choices and to involve students and parents in health promotion programs.
