Entrepreneurial learning - entrepreneurship educationKey competences developmentYouth employability

Objectives

1) PROJECT MOTIVATION: Increasingly, alongside formal education, key competences for lifelong learning, entrepreneurial thinking and attitudes are valued which prove to be a vehicle for integrating young Europeans into the labour market and society. If these do not exist or are not worked on, young people stagnate on their path and in the transition to adulthood, they do not recognise and implement innovative and entrepreneurial attitudes and do not develop a critical look at themselves and their environment. As a direct and indirect effect, there was an increase: -In the number of young people in social exclusion and disintegration: the ILO (2020) warns that "moderate or extreme in-work poverty may increase by 2020-21 in developing countries, making it more difficult to achieve the Sustainable Development Goal of eradicating global poverty by 2030"; -On the n-º of NEET youth: "Globally, some 267 million young people are neither in work, education nor training (NEET)." (ILO, 2020); -In the number of young people unemployed: "More than one in six young people have stopped working since the start of the OVCID-19 pandemic, while those who have kept their jobs have seen their working hours reduced by 23% (...)" (ILO, 2020). The scenario tended to get worse when we talk about under-represented social groups such as ethnic minorities and migrants who faced greater difficulties in social and professional insertion. Aligned with the European Union Youth Strategy 2019-2027 and the Youth Goals, the project intended to involve, connect and empower young people in building their future tomorrow and aimed to contribute to the empowerment of young people by giving voice, space, conditions and the right tools for them to build their path, address their needs and direct their own social change. In a pandemic period, in which the effects were devastating for young people, it was mandatory to promote innovative support and empowerment responses so that their fragile situation could be reversed and they could increasingly become an active part of Europe. 2) PROBLEM The social problem of the project was the social exclusion of young people and disintegration vis-à-vis education and training systems, internship or work. 3) NEEDS The following needs were thus identified: -To exploit the potential of the young generations so that they become more capable, aware, entrepreneurial and highly skilled in adapting to social evolution and change; -To strengthen the role of non-formal and informal methods, as complements to formal education, in the development of young people's skills; -Promote access to opportunities, namely social and professional opportunities, especially for young people with fewer opportunities; -To promote the participation of young people in the various social spheres and the valorisation of youth work. 4) OBJECTIVES -To empower young people by developing key competences for lifelong learning and adopting entrepreneurial thoughts and attitudes -Empowerment of young people in the field of youth entrepreneurship and innovation, through the transfer of knowledge and methodologies, methods and tools; -Promoting the social inclusion of young people, including socially under-represented groups (such as ethnic minorities and migrants), by creating opportunities and training for labour market integration -Promoting the potential of non-formal education (NFE) and informal education (IE) methodology in the empowerment and personal, social and professional development of young people; -Involvement and connection of young people in the various spheres of society for the reversal of the personal, social and professional situation.
