Objectives

This project aims was to contribute to the mitigation of two of the biggest problems that our society currently faces: The first, in relation to climate change and the harmful effects of human action on the environment. The second refers to the relationship of young people with new technologies, since the excessive consumption of games and social networks, has proved to be problematic in terms of the potential for emotional disorders, difficulties in interpersonal relationships, a disconnection with nature and natural processes and therefore the disconnection with themselves. The effect of climate change can already be seen in several regions, and the impact of human activities, such as the burning of fossil fuels and the felling of the forest, intensify these changes, creating more social and environmental problems. We believe that it is essential to help young people to reflect on these issues so that today's young people are able to transform the world. tomorrow, with all their abilities, love and intelligence, through personal, social, environmental or business projects, with a vision systemic and integrative and trategies that contribute to the development of all beings, the community and the planet. In Portugal and Europe, there are several educational campaigns, documentaries and events with the aim of impacting the awareness of environmental responsibility. However, if the young person is disconnected from himself and from nature and connected only with the digital world, these campaigns do not achieve the intended effect, as they do not dialogue with the lives of these young people. We do not believe that technology is harmful, quite the contrary, we propose in this project a movement to connect young people, from various European spaces, with nature, and simultaneously, a relationship with the digital world that is done safely. This exchange, brought together young people from different European Union countries, and awareness to each individual but also a global scale, contributing to a more promising future for new generations, as we believe that prevention is an engine of change. We helped young people to learn more about nature in practice. The walks and field trips during the project allow them to discover natural processes in immersion moments, reflection and creation. At the same time, we helped young people to have a critical thinking in their relationship with new technologies and learned how to use the internet safely and profitably, exploring the advantages of new technologies, both personally and socially and professionally. They learned about how the situation of the world today is important for them to understand the result of human action in the world and to avoid. the mistakes that have been made. Understanding that there is an interconnection between all factors is fundamental: the choices each one makes in daily life have an impact on nature and have an impact on the lives of other people on the other side of the world, the measures taken by a country have repercussions in the lives of people in other countries as well. For this reason, it was essential that this reflection and sharing occured, out across borders and that the European identity is strengthened for the adoption of stronger and more sustainable joint strategies. This project is in line with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations 2030 agenda, namely SDG 13, on Climate Action; SDG 15, protect terrestrial life; SDG 12, sustainable production and consumption; as well as SDG 4, quality education, especially regarding cultural diversity and the contribution of culture to sustainable development.
