1. WHY? The social problem is the abandonment of rural areas to which young people are condemned, caused by the lack of opportunities and investment in these regions. This rural exodus, whose condemnation comes from the lack of use of the value and potential of young people for the development and dynamism of the community, has as its consequences the aging of the population, which translates: a) in rural areas without young people, leading to a decrease in the quality of life (exposure of people to the loss of basic services, health, education, etc.). b) Loss of economic dynamism (with an accentuation of the outflow of labor) and an abandonment of crops (which leads to rural desertification and importation of products). Furthermore, this abandonment of crops leads to a greater risk of fires since the land is left unattended. 2. IDEA We intend, through the project, to promote rural development through the capacity building of Youth Workers (YW) who, in turn, now have the knowledge and tools necessary to work with young people to create the right opportunities for their personal, social, economic and professional development in the rural community. 3. NEEDS Based on the social problem, we consider as main needs within the project - Promotion of stimulus and opportunities to attract the interest of young people to settle in these regions, in order to develop them socially and economically, bringing back innovative dynamics and providing better well-being and quality of life for people; - To invest in youth entrepreneurship, from an early age and in a preventive character, allowing young people to put their ideas into practice, to recognize their potential and talent and to optimize it; - Promoting the participation of young people in the community, in social and civic life, through their empowerment and the recognition of their value; - Promoting youth action based on sustainable action. 4. OBJECTIVES a) General - Dynamization of youth in rural territories, making opportunities for young people to settle in the territory and contribute to its rejuvenation. b) Specific - To capacitate the YW with skills and experiences that would encourage improvement, quality, innovation and recognition of youth work; - To promote the quality of youth work, through the creation of opportunities with new methodologies, methods, processes and inclusive, appealing and non-formal procedures; - Empower the YW in themes and actions such as youth entrepreneurship and rural entrepreneurship, territorial dynamization and potential for value creation by young people; - Bringing young people closer to rural dynamics, through the improved action of the YW and organizations; - To raise awareness of the involvement of the YW, organizations, youth and community in the search for sustainable and revitalizing solutions for the territory; - Promote the recognition and use of methodologies such as non-formal and informal education in working with young people.
