Objectives

By implementing this project, we aimed to achieve several key objectives: Increase Labour Opportunities and Personal Capabilities: Enhance the digital skills and employability of young people in rural areas by developing their proficiency in digital tools and platforms. Enhance Entrepreneurial Efficiency and Competitiveness: Improve the entrepreneurial efficiency and competitiveness of small businesses through digital transformation and competencies in digital markets. Promote Knowledge Exchange and New Business Creation: Facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experiences between young people and enterprises, and promote the creation of new businesses by youth. These objectives align with the broader goals of addressing digital transformation, promoting active citizenship and youth entrepreneurship, and strengthening employability.

Background

We applied for this project to address several critical needs in our region. Firstly, fostering close collaboration between the involved organizations to enhance our collective impact. Secondly, gaining experience and involvement in more Erasmus projects for growth and learning. The most significant motivation was to respond to the pressing needs of our territory. The primary needs addressed include: Digital Transformation and Capacity Building: Improving digital readiness, resilience, and capacity among young people and SMEs in rural areas to enhance employability and competitiveness. Youth Employability and Entrepreneurship: Tackling high youth unemployment by promoting active citizenship, initiative, and entrepreneurship, including social entrepreneurship, to empower youth. Cross-Border Collaboration and Community Integration: Fostering a sense of belonging to a European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation to strengthen community identity and connection. Addressing Regional Challenges: Combatting high depopulation, an aging population, and lack of opportunities in Galicia and Northern Portugal by motivating young people and entrepreneurs to invest in their local communities and leverage technology.
