• Provide learning opportunities and resources for youth enabling them to actively participate in the public sphere. This involves equipping them with the skills and knowledge to conceptualize, structure, and promote their perspectives and suggestions in their fields of interest. • Support organizations working in the youth sector to effectively empower, train, guide, and support young people in becoming active citizens. This includes enhancing the capacity of youth workers and educators to mentor and encourage youth participation in civic life. • Cultivate active citizenship and European values among young people. Through training and education, empower young people to engage in public life, contribute to society, and address complex challenges. • Enhance young people’s skills such as critical thinking, media literacy, innovative digital skills, and communication. These skills are essential for informed decision-making, civic engagement, and readiness for further education or employment. • Increase the quality of youth work by modernizing teaching practices of youth workers. Utilize innovative approaches that align with young people’s daily habits and needs, ensuring relevance and effectiveness in engaging and empowering youth.
We recognized the pervasive issue of youth apathy and political disengagement, which manifests in low voter turnouts and limited participation in civic activities. This apathy signifies a lack of trust in the political system among young people. Consequently, we aimed to empower youth to engage in political processes. Moreover, the sentiment of being unheard and excluded from decision-making processes was prevalent among youth. Additionally, by participating in the project, we sought to contribute to initiatives that cultivate a culture of civic engagement and volunteerism, thereby fostering a sense of community ownership and responsibility among young people. Also, we recognized an opportunity to engage rural youth in meaningful activities aimed at promoting community development and economic resilience. By leveraging the project’s resources, we aimed to empower young people in rural areas to play an active role in revitalizing their communities and driving sustainable development. Overall, our overarching goal was to enhance the quality of youth work, foster a more inclusive and sustainable society, and empower young people to become active agents of positive change in their communities and beyond.
