Objectives

The project pursued the following objectives: GENERAL OBJECTIVES 1. To enhance the employability of young NEETs. 2. To increase the quality and effectiveness of the empowerment actions of organizations and professionals working with young NEETs. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES 1. To develop tailored learning programs that enhance young NEETs' engagement and motivation in learning. 2. To increase the key competencies of young NEETs, enabling them to unleash their dynamic potential, self-regulate their emotions and behaviors, cope with complexity, and become thriving individuals, responsible social agents, and reflective lifelong learners. 3. To equip youth leaders, youth workers, and trainers with the knowledge, skills, and innovative tools needed to empower young NEETs.

Background

In a rapidly changing socio-economic landscape, individuals were required to quickly adapt to new paradigms in relationships and labor contexts. The COVID-19 pandemic exacerbated existing labor market vulnerabilities, particularly affecting young people transitioning from education to work, leading to an increase in the EU youth NEET (Neither in Employment nor Education or Training) rate to 13.7% in 2020. This hindered the EU Youth Strategy's objectives, pushing young NEETs further away from opportunities to build human and social capital. Innovative interventions became crucial to equip these youths with the skills needed to navigate a constantly evolving world and to work towards the EU's goal of reducing the NEET rate to 9% by 2030. The "INKEY" project aimed to empower young NEETs by developing engaging digital tools and online communities that enhanced key competencies outlined in the LifeComp Framework. The project analyzed existing training practices, created tailored e-learning programs, developed an e-learning platform, and integrated offline activities for youth workers, ensuring a comprehensive approach to personal and social development.
