For about a year, at the level of the organization, there has been an increase in the number of people aged between 60-70+ who request support and psychological counseling, due to anxiety states - consequences of the pandemic generated by COVID19. They often describe the frustrations they have, feeling vulnerable in the face of the pandemic, which made them self-isolate and reduce social contacts, including with those close to them. Even before the pandemic, the marginalization of "grandparents" was a phenomenon that, with sustained efforts, many institutes tried to combat, but now there is an increase in the development of the feeling of self-isolation among the elderly. Since the pandemic generated by COVID19 has subsided, and the project was conceived in a period with many negative consequences acceted by this pandemic, by respecting the objectives proposed in the application form, namely: the involvement of specialists in the field of psychology/kinesiotherapy and workers for seniors, we developed the objectives initially proposed so as to respond to the current needs of the elderly. The results of the project should be used and exploited further, as support in the well-being and social integration of the elderly.
Thanks to the EU funding offered through the Erasmus projects for adult education, which our organization has benefited from since 2018, we managed to develop in terms of formal and non-formal education services for adults from different social and professional categories (teachers/psychologists/ disabled and socially disadvantaged adults). Thus, we promoted at the community level a modern educational system based on technology, contributing to the development of skills and abilities of direct utility, in the profession and in society. Through the project, we responded affirmatively to the current needs of the elderly, generated by the COVID19 pandemic, and at the same time the development of integrative activities for people 60+, contributing to the awareness of the positive impact of constant physical activity for their mental health. Thus, specialists from our organization participated in professional training in the field of medicine, psychology and technology. By combining these fields, we managed to develop results and activities that contribute to the integrative process of the elderly and maintaining an active and healthy life.
