Background

Knowing the particularities and needs of children with Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD) on the one hand and observing the special results of experiential theater on other categories of children with Special Education Needs (SEN) on the other hand, we supposed that experiential theater can be modeled to meet the children with ASD particularities, with considerable benefits in the process of their therapy. We have proposed to bring experiential theater into the lives of children with ASD in a way that is adapted to their needs: -Limited access to theater: This project aims to create a theater experience that is specifically tailored to their needs. -Quality of life: Experiential theater can help them better understand the world around them, interaction with the environment, and overall level of well filling. -Social skills development: By encouraging collaboration with adults and peers, the project aims to address the need for social skills development in a supportive environment. -Sensory integration: The project acknowledges this need by selecting stimuli and integrating sensory elements into the theater experience helping children with ASD develop sensory integration skills while being part of the therapeutic process.
