Objectives

At the beginning we set up 4 main objectives which we wanted to reach by the implementation of our project: O1 To broaden rural young people’s knowledge from the involved countries about the European Union, active citizenship and participation; O2 To foster rural young people’s active involvement and participation in their local communities. O3 To support the newcomer and less experienced organisations to gain experience in project management under Erasmus+ Programmes; O4 To develop the knowledge and capacity of the involved organisations how to address and mobilize young people from rural areas.

Background

We were motivated to apply for this project in order to foster rural young people’s active involvement in their local communities. We realized that the young people in our communities have no proper tools or knowledge how to organise groups around themselves, where and how to start, how to mobilize others or what they are capable of. Also, the local (mainly rural) young people are not really interested or do not know about local opportunities in which they could be involved, or they do not have proper knowledge about the European Union, furthermore, do not know what means to be active citizen (why it’s good or beneficiary for them). In reflection of these experiences, the involved organisations are dedicated to work for and together with the local young people with the aim to help their involvement to the communities. The involved organisations’ needs were to increase their impacts on local and international level – to target young people as well as to broaden their network of stakeholders and local partners- and to start a youth center, or develop the existing one and engage more young people as beneficiaries of the place.
