Youth exchange aims to address this problem by targeting main consequences of plastic pollution and to provide participants sustainable solutions since the change will come only if people are aware of the problem and understand the dangerousness of it. Objectives of this youth exchange are to: 1.Increase participants’ knowledge about the plastic pollution origins, negative consequences and possible solutions for this problem 2. Draw attention to prevention of waste as one of the tools for implementing protection of the environment and human heath 3. Motivate young people to make changes in their everyday life habits by taking preventive measures of decreasing plastic pollution on the individual level 4. Help youth to become active citizens by sharpening their skills for critical thinking and motivating them to share their experience with their peers online and in person 5. Increase self-esteem, a sense of belonging, English language skills, public speaking, working in groups with mixed nationalities competencies by playing team building, ice breaking and name games 6. Familiarize participants with the opportunities Erasmus+ programme offers, especially Youth Exchanges and use of Youth Pass, and to share what they learned with peers 7. Educate young people about EU regulations regarding circular economy and the harmfulness that one time and short time use plastic items are having on nature and to motivate them to become active citizens in their own local communities by promoting plastic free lifestyle and everyday habits that are leading to plastic consumption decrease on a long run-in line with EU environment
