Our aim was to promote a mindset and approaches that help to tackle enormous social problems that all communities all over Europe face. Young people have great potential in developing solutions to address local social challenges as they have not only unique knowledge of local premises but also other non-monetary resources like free time, good physical condition, digital competence, curiousity and natural strive for discovery and experiment. However, they cannot use a lot of opportunities due to the lack of information, motivation and knowledge about processes in the society. So we brought young people from Sweden, Turkey and Romania as potential changemakers to communities for a youth exchange with learning in focus on support, energising & empowerment. Social challenges have traditionally been the responsibility of governmental institutions rather than individual efforts. Therefore many people in Sweden don't see the need for social entrepreneurship as developing operations with non-monetary values and resources. On the other hand, in Turkey and Romania, people are used to solve their social challenges in their own ways but not neccessarily with a community good in focus. There were lots of things that young people could learn from each other, as we would conduct both theoretical and practical sessons around social entrepreneurship and tackling complex social challenges. The project aimed to increase the competences of young people from Sweden, Romania, and Turkey on social entrepreneurship in a local and intercultural environment and gain both knowledge and motivation to become the engines of social change by initiating social entrepreneurship projects. The objectives of the project were: -To encourage participation and inclusion of young people in social issues, -To explore the concept of social entrepreneurship as a tool for tackling social challenges, -To provide participants with the tools and methods on how to develop the idea of a social enterprise, open and run it, -To inspire young people on how to make the community they live in better and empower them to be active citizens, -To increase project management skills of young people , -To discuss and promote Erasmus+ to support social entrepreneurship.
