The project “Tolerant Youth” is a Youth exchange that took place in Kobuleti, Georgia 01.09 – 10.09 in 2022. The project was based on the following background: we believed that tolerance is an important concept that helps people to live together peacefully. Tolerance refers to an attitude of openness, and respect for the differences that exist among people and it is about accepting people for who they are. The "Tolerant Youth" project was a valuable opportunity for young people to come together and learn about the importance of tolerance, respect, and mutual understanding. In today's world, where people from different nations, cultures, and religions live and work together, it is essential to have an attitude of openness and acceptance toward diversity. Without tolerance and harmony, societies cannot maintain lasting peace or establish loyalty among each other. The project aimed to break stereotypes and promote good neighborly relations between EU and non-EU members. The participants were from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and experiences, and this diversity was considered a strength rather than a disadvantage. The project provided a platform for the participants to make new friends, create a network, and learn about different cultures, religions, and countries. The project’s objectives were the following: -To raise awareness about tolerance to young people; -Raise awareness of Erasmus+ and non-formal education as an effective tool in the fight against intolerance and violence. - To unite youngsters from different backgrounds, nations, and cultures; -to promote inclusion of youth with fewer opportunities; -To provide them opportunities to participate on an equal level in the international youth project; -to promote a sense of initiative in youth; - Learn how to communicate with others using non-violent communication; - Improve knowledge about other cultures and religions and countries; - To break stereotypes; - To promote good neighborly relations between the EU Members and the non-EU. The project's objectives were not only to raise awareness about tolerance and non-formal education but also to promote inclusion for youth with fewer opportunities. The participants learned how to communicate using non-violent communication, promoting a sense of initiative and breaking down barriers that arise from fear and ignorance towards the unknown. Through art and sports expression of cultural, religious, and ethnic diversity, the participants recognized the need for tolerance in all spheres of life, from the smallest unit up to the highest unit of society. They learned that diversity is the beauty of our universe and that without it, the world would be boring and unattractive. The project had a positive impact on the participants and contributed to building a more tolerant and peaceful world.
