YIAP aimed to educate and empower young people (volunteers/athletes) with and without intellectual disabilities to become sport integrity ambassadors in their communities, fostering active participation and a culture of integrity across Europe. The consortium sought to trigger positive change within the sport sector, creating more participatory spaces for young people. The objectives identified for the project's good development were: - To develop competences of young people to take an active role in their societies by spreading and disseminating a culture of integrity in their sport community, involving children and youth within sport clubs, schools, and universities. - To create an educational program to equip the youth with project management skills, digital tools, and values such as democracy, equality, and fairness - To train young people to actively identify, prevent, and react against dishonest, chicanery, and crooked practices within the sport sector and in society at large - To establish an expert support network of integrity ambassadors at European level - To stimulate youth participation by ensuring that young people with and without intellectual disabilities are included in society and the sport sector, fostering an i
The main need that led the coordinator RF and the partners to the submission of the YIAP project proposal was identified through discussion and events commonly organised at national and european level. Partners, supported by data collected through the participation to the policy sport life at national and european level, agreed on the necessity of a joint action to tackle dishonest, chicanery and crooked practices within the sport sector. Moreover, the project consortium was built on the common belief, and confirmed by the data available at European level (EU Youth Strategy and EU Work plan for Sport), that young people could be active actors of positive change in society and sport. Hence the main idea of YIAP was shaped: the creation of an educational curriculum that could give young people involved in the life of the organisations the knowledge and skills to be ambassadors of integrity, in their local contexts. Solidarity, democracy and inclusiveness were the key values identified as crucial to be promoted and followed through the development of the project activities. The educational curriculum was aimed to offer both knowledge and tools to realise impactful actions implemented by youth.
