Objectives

Objectives: This project aimed to enhance the knowledge of youth leaders regarding disabilities, their challenges, and possibilities. We wanted to highlight the opportunities that may arise when working with people with disabilities and mixed groups. We aimed to create effective methods and workshops that youth leaders/teachers could use when working with mixed groups. Additionally, we hoped to increase young people's awareness of the Erasmus+ Key action and improve their understanding of European values. We hoped that this project would lead to improved learning performance, increased sense of initiative and entrepreneurship, enhanced intercultural awareness, more active participation in society, and increased motivation for taking part in future formal/non-formal education or training after completing the project. Lastly, we strived to increase the ability of people with disabilities to take part in workshops. Moreover, it was essential to the project to build a network of 20 organizations that could benefit from the methods developed during the project. This network is now composed of organizations that all strive to create new possibilities for people with disabilities.

Background

Following the completion of the "Don't Complicate It" project and the youth exchange evolution, it was evident to the partnership that more workshops and methods were required to cater to mixed groups of people with and without disabilities. The partners all agreed that this was a shared objective and an area they needed to improve upon. Despite the successful learning outcomes from the event and the performance, the partners did not want to stop there. Without the right tools, it would remain just an idea. Therefore, they aimed to assist other organizations in this process and to begin including people with disabilities in mixed groups.
