By implementing the project at the school, we wanted to: - raise the quality of teaching in the classroom, - create an innovative intercultural and interactive learning environment, - raise the level of teachers' competence in the field of inclusion, tolerance, solidarity, - develop or update learning methods and teaching approaches in the field of digital competencies and consequently inclusion of students with special needs, - to learn with and from each other, - to raise awareness and educate the school and wider environment through direct presentations of examples of good practice (workshops, exhibitions, events, round tables, and sports events), - motivate students to use innovative approaches in independent learning, - create teaching and didactic aids adapted to the individual needs of students, - create an e-handbook of good practices, - teach the ability to integrate into the school and wider social environment, - increase the professional development of teachers, - refresh the knowledge of foreign languages.
The socio-cultural level of the school is diverse. A quarter of the students have a migrant background, Slovenian is not their mother tongue, and they have problems learning and understanding texts. They do not know digital skills nor can respond creatively in a new learning environment. The number of students with special needs is increasing at the school, and the individualized program and additional professional help dedicated to them are increasing, and as a result, teachers need an additional professional training. The diversity, differences, and individuality of the students are the basic starting point of the teacher's work at school. Through practice with related foreign organizations, we raised the level of digital competencies and knowledge of learning methodologies of inclusion and innovations of European education systems. The activities we carried out in the project improved digital skills and competencies, methods and strategies of inclusion, and connected both in the pedagogical work in the classroom. The knowledge of the participants, which they have acquired at partner organizations, has a positive effect on working with students with special needs, those from vulnerable groups, and groups with fewer opportunities
