Objectives

Our project had three objectives. To raise the level of digitalisation and ICT integration in the school, to involve more actively foreign and special needs pupils at all levels of school activities and to improve the ecological functioning of the school, while learning even more about biodiversity. All these objectives were kept in mind when we chose our mobility activities - seminars and educational visits. Through the educational seminars, two teachers have gained new knowledge in the field of robotics and in different applications and programmes that teachers can use in the classroom. In addition, the educational visits gave the teachers an insight into different teaching practices in the Spanish, French and Norwegian school systems. Our aim was that teachers of our school gain new ideas, knowledge and skills through mobility, which they will be able to disseminate to their pupils and fellow teachers, thus keeping pace with the needs and changes in the education of 21st century learners.

Background

Our project is the logical follow-up of a previous Erasmus+ KA101 project; namely, a group of teachers from our school took part in courses and educational visits abroad for the first time, giving us a good experience that went far beyond our initial expectations. We felt how much a teacher can gain from this kind of mobility and how much the Erasmus project can help us. We have been involved in Erasmus projects at our school for many years and so it was not difficult to find organisations and schools that could offer us new knowledge and help us with gaining experience. We decided to go for teacher mobility mainly because at the time of writing (autumn 2021) the whole situation regarding Covid in many countries was still very unstable and the travel possibilities very unclear and changing. We foresaw that if students were involved, there could be problems. However, our main guiding principle was the realisation that a knowledgeable and educated teacher is a very important building block for quality and an extremely important factor in any school.
