Objectives

The project aimed to provide an overview of the labour market at the level of junior post-secondary vocational education. Through the review, we wanted to understand what expectations employers have and what students have and how schools as recruiting institutions can help. Based on the findings, we wanted to develop appropriate activities, recommendations, guidelines, etc. to help narrow the gap between employers and juniors.

Background

At the Postojna School Centre, the gap between employers' and students' expectations has been very pronounced, especially in the last few years. This is reflected in the cooperation with employers in various projects. The gap, although not very visible, was also perceived at the school in Kraljevo. Employers' expectations are one thing, and those of students are another. Employers want, above all, diligence and obedience, while on the other hand, there are young people who have formulated expectations. The project has brought schools together to find out how young people's and employers' expectations differ or are similar across countries and, on this basis, to develop solutions or recommendations that will help students, employers, and schools, which are a very important stakeholder as a bridge between the two target groups during the education process.
