Objectives

The ME SOM ROM IN DIVERSITY project aimed to strengthen the status of Roma in society, to encourage them to be more assertive in all areas and to create genuine interaction between Roma and non-Roma from different countries and the local community where the project took place. We wanted to bring their culture and way of life closer to the community and especially to young people, and to highlight the issues still affecting Roma in society. In doing so, we followed the objectives of the Erasmus+ programme, involving young people with fewer opportunities (economic, social, geographical barriers), actively involving all young people through non-formal learning, strengthening social inclusion, language competences, actively promoting youth work, reducing discrimination and intolerance, and preventing any form of hate speech. Through the project and the exchange itself, we have tried to encourage young people to get actively involved in similar projects, as this provides them with a wide range of competences that can be very helpful in finding their first job.
