The purpose of the project was to contribute to raising the level of knowledge of the field and dealing with the topics of sexuality among young people. Activities were approached by empowering young people to have effective conversations about sexuality with their peers, by raising awareness of true and distorted online information and the importance of a critical perception of the information obtained. The long-term aim of the project was to contribute to the reduction of: taboos in the area of sexuality, shame when talking about sexuality, mental hardships and problems arising from feeling unaccepted in connection with sexuality and sexual orientation and violence based on the diversity of sexual orientations and identities. We undertook the project based on practical experience of working with youth and data from the HBSC 2018, which showed that every fifth 15-year-old (20.3%) and almost every second 17-year-old (47.7%) had already had sex. The decision to take such a step is influenced by attachment to the peer group and the behavior that peers choose in the area of sexuality. In adolescence, inclusion in the peer group is especially important, which is a condition for choosing similar or identical behaviors, attitudes, etc. There is also often direct peer pressure for certain behavior and misconceptions of people within peer groups about the actions and experiences of other people within the same group. There is a clear belief among teenagers that their peers are more sexually active than they actually are. The consequences of the desire to belong, to be approved and to prove it can lead to serious outcomes that last the entire life of an individual (early sexual intercourse has a significant impact on the subsequent sexual life of an individual - more sexual partners means more risky sexual behaviours). It is also problematic that young people enter into sexual relations without a sufficient amount of verified and professionally based information. Adults hardly talk to young people about sexuality, which most often means that the main source of knowledge about sexuality for young people is the Internet. This is full of wrong and misleading information, as a result young people often take the sexuality shown in pornographic content as an example of a "normal" sexual life. The fact that 53% of boys and 39% of girls rate pornography as realistic is also worrying from the point of view of (violent) behavior choices in (intimate) relationships with others. The goals of the project were: to offer young people practical and scientifically validated information for responsible and healthy sexuality, teach young people to judge the credibility of data, to provide young people with a safe place to talk about sexuality under the guidance of professionally trained personnel, to encourage young people to gain insight into their own experience of sexuality, to self-reflection and enable a guided discussion about their own experiences and to prepare several products with young people that will spread the topic of the project - a manual for parents, youth and pedagogical workers: how to successfully talk to young people about sexuality; a set of activities on the topic of sexuality that youth and ped. workers also use comics for young people in their work with young people in order to raise awareness about safe and responsible sexuality). With this goal, young people should be placed in the position of the central, main designer. The central theme of the project was respect and a responsible attitude to the field of sexuality, taking into account the intercultural aspect. In addition, mobility was also an important topic of the project, as a central activity of the E+ program. Minors were given the opportunity to travel to a foreign country and network with their peers from different countries, with an escort that provided security and a quality program. The combination of components provided an opportunity for new experiences at a maximally reduced level for danger and challenges that young people could not overcome on their own. With the created handbook (segment of the 4th project objective), we enabled a larger number of people to access the findings and collected guidelines of the project. When setting up the project, we also followed several goals of the European Union Youth Strategy 2019-2027. Goal 2: Equality of all genders through ensuring equality of all genders and gende-sensitive approaches. Goal 3: Inclusive societies by enabling and ensuring the inclusion of young people regardless of various factors. Goal 4: Information and constructive dialogue by ensuring that young people have better access to relable information. Goal 5: Mental health and wellbeing through achieving better mental health for young people and de-stigmatising mental health problems.
