Objectives

After successfully finishing the first two youth exchange projects on modern agriculture and considering all business opportunities available to those working in the field of agriculture, we have decided to run another project with a similar theme. In our local environment, which is quite rural, we perceive a lack of jobs on one hand, and on the other we have many agricultural and viticulture properties that need young and enthusiastic owners who can create a new business story. Through this project, we wanted to bring together 25 young people from 4 different countries for a five-day exchange to get to know the farming profession and best practices in modern farming. By visiting examples of good practices, attending quality workshops and lectures, cooperating with lecturers, preparing the business plans and similar activities, we wanted to give the young people the opportunity to acquire new competitive expertise in the field of farming and development, for them to work in groups and exchange opinions and experiences, and compare their environments, local tourism and business ideas in agriculture and for them to have the opportunity to meet others from different geographical, linguistic, cultural and professional backgrounds, to create new connections and a social network for further networking and cooperation (both nationally and internationally). We wanted them to teach them how to prepare a good business plan for the start-up of an agricultural activity, how to promote the farm business, how to sell products and create a tourist offer, with the help of experts. We introduced young people to the latest trends in modern farming, examples of good practices created by young people in the local environment, examples of developing agritourist and introduced them the business planning skills, so that during the exchange the young participants developed their own ideas and produced 4 business plans to develop innovative business ideas linking agriculture and tourism in their local rural environment.
