By carrying out the project, we wanted to show that young people can also contribute something to the local community because we have and still notice the opinion that the involvement of young people in the general life of the local community (at least ours) is bad. We wanted young people who, in one way or another, visit or work with the Jarše Youth Center to open up to the outside, connect with the local community, and show that young people from MDJ also know and are able to do something. One of the main wishes was for young people to be outside in the fresh air a little more, to be physically active, and to spend less time on their mobile phones and other electronic devices. We wanted to give young people the opportunity to be successful somewhere and to do something themselves. The young people from the Production School of the Jarše Youth Home are among those with fewer opportunities who, one way or another, dropped out of the regular school system. Through different work processes and several different workshops, we wanted to familiarize the participants with different forms of work. We wanted the young people to learn to cooperate with others, plan the workflow and properly allocate the time for the implementation of the project. Among other things, together with them, we organized various trainings on farms and horticulture, where they had the opportunity to learn about various tasks. In addition to all the acquired skills that the participants could get during the course of the project, there were many opportunities for practical learning, especially in the field of working with wood and earth. Through the project, we wanted young people to try out different skills and jobs. Let's mention that the Production School is a kind of "break" from the classic high school and is therefore a safe place where young people can explore other skills and talents. Many young people in the Production School decide to take a different course or even get a job, which is why the skills acquired in manual work are even more important since many people can focus on the path of employment, often as an assistant in one of the trades. Through the implementation of the project, we wanted young people to become familiar with the correct, and above all, safe use of various hand tools, as well as electric and battery tools, and also to at least partially feel the profession of carpentry and gardening. With the project, we also wanted to encourage the other participants to do something of their own, to get their own space (PARK) and take care of it ourselves. Of course, we also focused on caring for the environment, because through the project we wanted to encourage the participants to think about self-sufficiency and use their grown vegetables in the kitchen of the Production School. In addition to self-sufficiency, we also wanted to emphasize the importance of caring for the environment and reusing raw materials. We planned to make some garden furniture from old pallets, which are no longer useful for their primary purpose, and we also wanted to take care of the next generations, as we planned to plant fruit trees that will clean the air, and in a few years will some of the generations be able to treat themselves to a fruit snack? As already described above, we can see that the path by which we arrive at the final products of our project is more important than the goals. Achievable goals include a well-kept garden/PARK, where young people can socialize and have the opportunity to forge new ideas; high beds for own vegetable production; the connection of young people with young people from the surrounding area, as we also cooperated with a nearby school; the final event with the presentation of the project progress and the official opening of the garden/PARK. Another goal that can be added to the list is the familiarization of young people with other possibilities of the Erasmus+ program, some young people have already decided to participate in the youth exchange, and they have shown a great interest in DEU and some other possibilities that Erasmus+ offers.
