We wanted to be an open and open- minded school which offers a high quality education based on the European Skills Agenda for sustainable competitiveness, social fairness and resilience. Our main aim was to improve the quality of education through teachers´ development. The objectives of our project were: 1. Improve communication skills in English - Teachers improved their English and became independent users of the language so that they can cooperate with their colleages from European countries. 2. Implement innovative methodology and techniques in face to face as well as digital teaching-learning process -Teachers improved their digital skills and adopted the innovative methodology and techniques so that they make a teaching- learning process more attractive to their students. 3. Broaden international cooperation among schools - Thanks to the new skills and competences gained by the teachers, the school will start international cooperation in different subjects.
Recent technological advances have affected many areas of our lives, including the way we communicate, collaborate, learn, and of course a teaching-learning process as well. Teaching in the 21st century has very specific requirements and needs to adapt to all the changes that our society is facing nowadays. A teacher must reflect on our changing society. A teacher plays a key role in a teaching-learning process. The personality of a teacher together in combination with professional skills, methodology, techniques and strategies influence the quality of education, students´ motivation, results and the sucess of a teaching -learning process in general. If we want to improve the quality of education we need to invest in teachers´ education. The reason why we applied this project is to give our teachers a chance to learn abroad. Speaking a foreign language and digital skills are crucial for cooperation among schools in Europe. This project enabled us to broaden those competences of teachers which are necessary for international cooperation among schools in different school subjects.
