The aim of the project was to increase the capacities of three partners, in three different European countries, focused on sustainability education. 1. First, this happened via collecting good practices on sustainability education during the international study visit; 2. Second, also by sharing existing know-how and practices in the field of green project and office management; 3. And third, by collaboratively developing and practically testing a green educational program for adult learners, and building capacities of educators, teachers, trainers, facilitators in using this program within their educational work with the respective target groups. Partners aimed to achieve several objectives through the project implementation. This included developing and disseminating educational resources, facilitating knowledge exchange among partners, building capacity in delivering eco-consciousness activities, engaging local communities through study visits and workshops, and contributing to a cultural shift towards sustainability in Slovakia, Iceland and Romania by use of international practices.
“To have a greener future, people must dispose of green competences. For this we need educators developing these competences of individuals. To have empowered educators developing peoples´ green competences, they need to be well-trained themselves. To reach this state, high-quality, attractive & effective green EDU programs must exist which are developed by authentic organizations operating in the field of green education. Real education towards sustainability can only be provided by authentic organizations inspired also by good practices of others, what includes being green also in their educational projects & operation.” – Following this logical path, partners applied for the project to further enhance strategic partnership initiatives, building upon past successes in creating educational materials, organizing study visits, & sharing best practices. Recognizing the importance of eco skills & awareness in contemporary society, they aim to prioritize the development of green competencies for life. Through seminars, workshops, & targeted activities, partners seek to introduce eco-consciousness within their audiences, thereby fostering a culture of sustainability & environmental responsibility in today's rapidly evolving world.
