Objectives

The decrease in agricultural lands over the years and the negative impact of monoculture farming activities on biodiversity proves the need for new encouraging practices for agriculture all over the world. According to this problem situation, our project aims to eliminate fragile and risky scenarios related to biological richness and to have the capacity to implement the historical achievements of civilizations that ruled in the past as a new strategy. In line with these reasons, the general aim of our project is “to bring the historical environmental awareness of archaic civilizations to young people with the richness of local biomass.” The sub-objectives determined in line with this general purpose are as follows: 1) To carry out awareness studies on the archaeobotanical heritage from prehistoric times to the present day, 2) To make a comparative and historical analysis of agriculture, 3) To comprehend the role of changing agricultural product range in biodiversity, 4) Exploring the rise of the agricultural economy with new trends such as permaculture, microfarming and hydroponic farming, 5) To learn the development experiences of civilizations that have experienced global climate change. Our project includes practices based on awareness of environmental problems and sustainability in line with the European Green Consensus, which is one of the main priorities of the Erasmus + program. In addition, in our project, it is aimed to gain knowledge, skills and awareness within the framework of ecology, environmental literacy and sustainability. The project was specifically structured with an interdisciplinary approach between “agricultural sciences, natural sciences, social sciences and humanities”. In this context, the EU youth strategy; 1) Knowledge and Constructive Dialogue 2) Moving Rural Youth Forward 3)Quality Learning 4) Space and Participation for All 5) Sustainable Green Europe 6) Youth Organizations and European Programs directly related to its goals.
