Objectives

Cultural degeneration, which expresses the loss of culture's unique characteristics, the deterioration of culture, its dissolution between different cultures; occur as a result of cultural changes. Corruption describes the state of losing essential features and structures, moving away from them, and ignoring them. Cultural degeneration, on the other hand, refers to the state of mindlessly and unconsciously changing, spoiling, and ignoring the cultural patterns of individuals and social groups. The formation of value confusion in the society and the overcoming of utilitarianism over time also affect the application of ethical rules. We call this situation as social degeneration in short. A cultural area exhibits characteristic cultural patterns recognizable by one or more livelihoods associated with a particular environment. This is a geographic region of peoples who share a common set of characteristics, often called a cultural complex. The concept is used to identify the cultural assets of neighboring regions as well as to define special geographical areas. After the conversations, activities, workshops and surveys we had with the youth, we determined that the youth of our country did not even know their own culture before and during the project. It has also been observed that young people living in the confusion of social values have prejudices against other cultures. In addition, an extremely cultural degeneration has occurred in our youth at grave points. They develop stereotypes based on simplified common beliefs about a specific goal and stereotypes that do not take into account individual differences. We also observed a great sense of curiosity about different cultures. We have concluded such a contradiction in a positive way. Young people are the most open to intercultural learning processes, communicating with each other and exploring diversity. The historical memory passed on to young people is short and one-sided. Cross-cultural learning is about dealing with memory, remembering and transcending memories for a new future. Through this project; What is culture? We created awareness and awareness of concepts such as what does it cover?, cultural diversity and globalization, the personal impact of the interaction of cultural difference on young people, the impact of globalization and social media on culture, the concept and functioning of democracy in ancient civilizations. We used methods such as research, presentation and simulation of cultural values that have changed, disappeared or preserved their existence from past to present. Young people got to know their own and foreign cultures, gained a sense of peer interaction and doing something together.
