Gastronomy education is given in our school. Most of our students reside in the slum area of Istanbul. One of our primary goals was to support them in their own fields due to their financial inadequacies, and to enable them to closely see and experience the gastronomy education in a country they may never go to in their lifetime. Since our school is an inexperienced institution that has never done an Erasmus project since its establishment, one of our goals was to be involved in international projects and ensure that our school gains experience in its further studies. When our students finish school, they will be employed in the tourism sector, but they do not have enough foreign language knowledge, this project would be a great opportunity for them. We wanted our students to create an original product by using the right research techniques in order to get to know their own and foreign cultures closely. At the same time, we have achieved our goal of contributing to the development of gastronomic tourism.
