We have been successfully implementing projects in the field of vocational education and training since 2013 and have so far enabled over 220 pupils to complete their compulsory internships in other European countries. With this short-term project, we also want to strengthen and sustainably expand our European network in the area of school education in order to offer students individual and group mobility, as well as mobility and networking opportunities for school staff. The project had set itself the following goals: (1) improving the foreign language skills of the participants (for pupils primarily in the second living foreign language Italian/French, in all mobilities English as a working and colloquial language), developing the school focus projects (2) entrepreneurship education (developing independence, demonstrating commitment, critical and networked thinking) and (3) sustainability (as School4Future with a thematic focus on raising awareness of environmental issues). Another aim was to revitalise contacts that had "fallen asleep" during the coronavirus pandemic and to establish new contacts for future projects.
"Sustaining Networks", the strategic goal of sustainable networking for our location took centre stage. A total of four different types of school are under one roof at our HLW. In addition to general education and learning 2 to 3 foreign languages, intensive practical and business training is also part of the curriculum for graduates of the five-year programmes. International cooperation and intercultural communication are an essential aspect of being able to survive in future professional fields, and the coronavirus pandemic has interrupted the development work on Erasmus+ that had begun shortly beforehand; with this project and thanks to the (now completed) accreditation, we would like to plan and implement our partnerships and mobility projects in the long term. In line with our motto "Diversity, opportunities, perspectives", individual talents and interests can be strengthened.
